Pigs and Helicopters
By Ben | June 13, 2007
Last night, after going to Wild Oats, we stopped by the dog park.
Things were pretty normal. I was throwing the ball for Fairbanks, and he was bringing it back. No big whoop.
All of a sudden I heard this horrible screeching squealing sound, and I thought “that is the worst sound I’ve ever heard come out of a dog.” I looked over, and all these dogs were surrounding a big husky that had a small black… dog?… in its mouth. “Well that’s weird,” I thought. I’ve seen dogs attack each other, but never a big dog with a little one in its mouth.
Then suddenly it all made sense. Or actually, it started making even less sense. Because I realized, “Oh, the little dog is a pig.” You know, cause that’s just a normal thing. Let’s go to dog park, and heck, let’s bring our pig.
A middle aged dog owner told me this was “amateur hour,” and that’s why he never comes in the evening. Hmm. So people who bring their pigs to dog park are the reason you don’t come in the evenings? Okay.
Anyway, much later that night when we had gone to bed, we heard a helicopter over our apartment. Johanna woke up and said there was probably a “robber in our back yard.” I concurred.
But then luckily the helicopter flew away. But then it circled back again. I decided to count helicopter cirlces, kind of like counting sheep. I got to about fifteen, then it finally took off.
And as far as I know, the robber is still in our back yard.

The ghetto bird flies around our house too. I think your robber must work part time in our neighborhood. I love Long Beach!
